Confirmed from McCloud Nature Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about McCloud Nature Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (608 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“Oh, and the bathrooms are always clean, and they're not like weird outdoor toilets, they're attached to the Nature Center where you get your trail maps.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Beautiful park and always kept clean and the grass cut .”

🪧 well-marked 2 mentions

“The trails are all clearly marked with icons to make it easy to keep track of where you are.”

This park has been on our to-do list for a while. The weather was perfect for trail walking. But when we got there, they had a naturalist giving a presentation about snails. Very cool and informative. So we got 2 snails to take home.

Beautiful park with lots of great trails. Most of them are very wide, smooth, and easily accessible, though there are some steeper hills. The trails are all clearly marked with icons to make it easy to keep track of where you are.

We enjoyed the maze and playground. We looked around in the nature center and learned about turtles. We hiked a few trails and looked at all the leaves. We took our dog too and enjoyed meeting other dogs on the trail.

★★★★☆ — Crystal , Oct 2023

Great little park. Not crowded at all. Plenty of short trails of all fitness levels. Love the story of the truss bridge. Happy to see history of things being preserved in useful ways.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says

  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
