About 30 good size shade trees (mostly maples and ponderosa pine) in the two square block park, half of them forming a line along the north side. Very few of the benches have shade so it's good to bring your own lawn chair or blanket. Some spots have decent views of Mount Rainier.
It's open and uncongested with a great atmosphere and very friendly, considerate, responsible, dogs on leash(mostly😁) kinda park. They have multiple play areas for little tykes and not so little tykes as well. Very family friendly and a great walking loop with a baseball diamond as well
Love McFarland park. I run here. Not much traffic here, which makes it a great park to have all to yourself during morning runs. Old paved trail, but playground equipment seems more modern. Great tall trees and a fantastic view of Rainier. This would be a great park for a picnic!
