Very nice hike if you want some workout. It is steep 1 mile up. You can feel those muscles. I saw on a trail some kids 6-7 years old. We had a lot of fog so couldn’t enjoy the views. Anyhow it was great time in the nature. Hike wasn’t crowded, we went on Saturday afternoon.
Decent hike, a bit of a choose your own adventure. You can take the forest service road all the way, or take side trails through the woods. Gets pretty steep towards the top, then there are 41 stairs to climb the tower. The views are ok, but not what I expected.
Saw this quick trial on Washington Trail Association and thought I would try it out. It says that the loop is 1.8 miles, but I think it is more than that based on linking over to the King County Park system. It was rated as Easy to Moderate for difficulty. I will agree with this rating for the difficulty.
I almost died trying to get to the top (noobie). Great exercise but the top doesn't have a great view, the view is blocked by trees. One of the locals told me there is a great view of Mt. Rainer if I take a different route down but I didn't try it because my car was towards a different direction.
