Confirmed from MDC Reservoir #6's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Great place to forget your troubles for a while. Great place to pick up the Metacomet trail 2 miles in on the left side of the trail. Takes you up to Hueblin Tower.

Sunday 20th Oct, wonderful hiking day with plenty of sun and falling leaves, and acorns...which hurt if they hit you! Lots of people enjoying the wonderful facility we have on our doorstep. A short 4 mile walk but worth every second.

The reservoir is a GREAT place to go to walk or run or hike. From the parking lot to the water treatment plant is 1.5 miles. If you go all the way around the reservoir it's 3.8 miles (I think- I don't usually go all the way around bc I'm a little cautious about walking through those woods due to bears).

What a beautiful place! Even in February at 25 degrees and snow on the ground. There is parking off Albany Turnpike and in the other end of the reservoir. The land is on 3000 acres and has over 30 miles of trails and woods. They are open daily from sunrise to sunset.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
