Confirmed from Mel Erickson Sunnyside Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I love this park. It is very relaxing for me. I love going here to walk.

★★★★★ — Della , Feb 2024

Nice park, but no walking path. We enjoy eating dinner at one of the many picnic tables, walking the perimeter and sticking around for a decent sunset view.

★★★★☆ — Eric , Sep 2020

Mel Erickson Park is a nice park it's not a great one but it's a nice. There are tennis courts, soccer fields and baseball fields with a playground and large ramada. The parking lot is gravel and tends to be bumpy. The bathrooms are usually clean but not that new. There is no walking path and limited trees.

★★★★★ — Mike , May 2021

Huge Park. Seems to have everything. There are tennis courts picnic shelters playground softball fields baseball fields hockey and other fields for any sport I could think of except maybe basketball. It was a great place to walk my dogs around the perimeter.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
