Confirmed from Melton Hill Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

My favorite park, boat ramp area, lots of open spaces to play, walking paths, places to get in water or put boards in ..playground, nice place to put in for paddleboarding, and great area to walk your dog.

First time hitting this spot and it’s amazing for photoshoots and offboarding into the River. Some great pathways (paved and unpaved), can’t wait to come back :) Paved pathway is fairly accessible and wheelchair friendly, only a few light hills of elevation to be concerned about.

★★★★★ — Danny , Aug 2023

Great park. Volleyball court is always open and the swings are a real blast. Got to be careful what time you go depending on the season, because sometimes the park is overrun with wedding and baby photography sessions. Beautiful trails. Real nice cliff with easy access back up.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
