Confirmed from Haw Ridge Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
A riverfront park on a peninsula, with wildlife & fishing, plus hiking & biking opportunities.
What runners say about Haw Ridge Park
“There is a porta potty in the parking area and they seem to keep it pretty clean.”
“The trail system connects to a beautiful boardwalk along Melton Lake, which is a wonderful place to view aquatic wildlife.”
“There are mile markers and other designations to assist with EMS finding you.”
What a great place to come and walk or ride. We went all over. Up and down hills and around the lake the first time we came it was higher. Awesome wild onions everywhere. I bet this place is hopping during morel season! Great little boat launch down the way also.
The trails are well maintained and marked so you know where to go. The scenery is absolutely beautiful.
My annual fall trip to Haw Ridge along the paved path. 1/10 in difficulty, but always keep an ear free to listen for bikers coming from front/behind/side trails. Some great captures with my camera, and even some chipmunks foraging about in the open.
I love bringing my dogs here. The hiking trails are beautiful. The terrain can be rough and steep at times - which I love! When we go it’s usually never busy on the trails, we didn’t see a single person on them today!
Trail conditions & character

“It was icy when I was there but even without that some narrow and slippery places with lots of roots and rocks and some sloped parts would be a bit too much.”
“Beautiful hiking trails with a ridge that centers around it, walk along the lakeside/river or climb to the ridgeline.”
“We park in the parking lot across from Centennial Village for easy access to Haw Ridge Greenway which is paved all the way to Melton Lake.”
