We hiked around 1pm in the afternoon found a parking spot and took about an hour to hike 3 miles to take in all the amazing views! It was a windy day and a bull snake cross the trail but this trail is worth the hype on peak bloom!
This is a beautiful park for camping. You look across the Columbia River at Washington. Lots of hook ups for trailers. Noticed a lot of tents aa well. It's pretty green right now but I wonder when mid summer if it will get a bit brown. Beautiful trees and plants. Saw an eagle, rabbit, and quail.
Late April was filled with lupine, balsam root, Indian paintbrush, and several other wild flowers. Gorgeous views everywhere! We did a 4 mile loop which had a treacherously steep part. Most of our party of 10 went down on our butts, whether by choice or not. Admittedly, we're all 65-80 years old...
Beautiful wild flowers, super easy trail for kids and old people. ( though its not paved ) you are able to walk your dogs and cats. No bathrooms so use the one in the town before going.
