This is one of the most beautiful places ever! I’m a photographer and come out here every year to take wildflower photos and it’s just incredible. I also take photos here other times of the year and it’s always gorgeous, so even if you can’t make it during wildflower season (late April/early May) it’s still worth it.
Popular trail that winds through huge open meadows mixed with oak groves, filled with outlandish wildflower displays. The seeming boundlessness of the flowers is stunning and the open vistas of the Columbia Gorge are beautiful.
What an amazing trail to hike, especially in the wildflower season. It was neither difficult nor too easy. The only thing that made this hike moderate level of difficulty was that it requires a few miles of uphill hiking. Otherwise, the path was very clearly marked and maintained throughout.
This is the time to chase down the blooms of wild flowers at Tom McCall Preserve near Hood River, OR. This is one of the gorgeous hike during this time of the year. The good thing about this hike is that you don’t need to hike up to the top to see the wild flowers like Dog Mountain.
