Spring Wildflowers at Coyote Wall — Absolutely Stunning! After hiking Dog Mountain at the end of last May, I completely fell in love with wildflower hikes. On April 25, we visited Coyote Wall Trail — and it absolutely blew me away.
Up up up! If you want a nice, challenging hike up a well groomed path, this is a great one. It was beautiful. We had hiked here many times before but had never taken full advantage of going all the way to the top. 6.5 miles round trip. It was 3 hrs exactly at a moderate pace. 1900 ft elevation gain/loss.
One of the most beautiful wildflower hike in spring season. You can enjoy Balsamroot, lupine and larkspur flowers here. This entire hike has spectacular views of Columbia River Gorge. There are multiple small detours and loops along the way. This is a moderate hike with little ascend and rocky or slippery at places.
With reluctance I am offering my review of this beautiful place. Currently it is less popular than other sites in the Columbia gorge and it would be lovely to stay that way! 😊 There is beautiful, mixed terrain and fantastic panoramic views of the gorge.
