Confirmed from Mount Washington's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Destination for hiking featuring a summit.
What runners say about Mount Washington
“Not the best view at the top, but a beautiful hike up.”
1. Plenty of parking 2. No potholes on TH 3. You need micro spikes this time in Jan 4. Some trees have fallen so trail needs some bending and going over logs. Nothing major though. 5. Beautiful views on a sunny day 6. Gradual elevation of 3300 ft over 4.5 miles to the summit. 7.
The gravel road to the parking area is short and has a few big potholes but they are easily avoidable, just keep an eye out and drive slowly. When we arrived around 10:45, there were about 10 vehicles parked at the trailhead with plenty of parking for more. Head up the trail head and take a right at the gravel road.
Beautiful hike. I was in town from San Diego, so this hike was exactly as Seattly as I had hoped to find while here.
A great hike, quite a few people. Slightly easier, maybe a bit longer than Mt Si, but much less crowded. The lower third is noisy (I 90). Trail condition is good. It took us 4:30 round trip (no run with a group of people in diverse fitness level) + a 30 min lunch break at the top, enjoying the views.

“The trail was muddy but easily manageable for the first couple miles.”
