Confirmed from Mt. Nebo Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Peaceful forest for picnics and picnics, plus marked hiking routes, some wildlife and a pond.
What runners say about Mt. Nebo Park
“This is a very beautiful park, it was completely covered by the snow ❄.”
“Trails are well marked, some upkeep needed on the benches and picnic tables, but I never expect places like this to even have them, so it is a nice that they already exist.”
“Small park with nice calm trails, lake to fish and camp place.”
About 2 city blocks in is a natural pond. Nice to bring dogs to play in the water. Hiked the yellow trail on 8/13. Clearly and frequently marked. About a 2 mile loop. Mostly even but spots of up and downhill. It is wooded so prepare for some bugs and tree roots on the trail.
Very nice park for a short hike. The longest trail is 1.95 miles (yellow) with few scenic overlooks. Summertime those views are a little blocked by trees though. Good place to take your kids for nature hike or a picnic.
We hike the Mt Nebo trails after we check out from vacation in the Poconos at Shawnee. It's a great goodbye hike before getting in the car to drive. A good variety of birds, wildlife, trees and plants.
Small park with lovely trail. Be prepared with mosquito repellant. Deer present when I was there. Should have good fall colors on a sunny day. I was there on a misty weekday. Very few other users. Peace site post at one open area for gatherings.
