Confirmed from Mundy's Gap's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Steep, sometimes windy trail with rocky surfaces on a high peak offering scenic desert and river views.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“Really loved this trail, it has beautiful overlooks, and stunning red rocks along the way.”

Awesome Awesome trail! I recommend if you don't want to walk for 25 minutes on big rocks then go right and take a left at the beginning of the hike. You're ankles will thank you. Even with high hiking boots it was hard to walk on those big rocks

Have hiked this beautiful trail twice . You can access the trail either from the west or east side of the park. It is steady but not too difficult climb. There are very good views along the way and also some very interesting rock formations.

Great hike and bike trail. Beautiful views. My 10 and 14 year old boys accomplished it with some difficulty. Take plenty of water.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
