Confirmed from Murphy-Hanrehan Singletrack Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

From the moment I stepped foot in Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve, I knew I was in for a treat. This gem in northeast Scott County is an idyllic blend of glacial ridges, lush forests, and hilly terrains that makes every visit memorable.

My new favorite trails in the twin cities. More flow, less straight trail sections, more kickers, berms, rock features. Climbs are well paced.. Only the skinny has some risk and all the other features are doable for this intermediate rider.

Chris Rooney Home Experts highly recommends Murphy Hanrehan MTB Trailhead for anyone looking for an adrenaline rush! With 10 miles of trails, great scenery and technical features, it's the perfect option for any level of rider, whether you're an experienced biker or looking for something intermediate.

★★★★★ — Chris , Apr 2023

Great trails! I must warn any hikers because many mountain bikers use the trails alongside the hikers. I was part of a two person hiking adventure & we were passed by at least a dozen cyclists. Maybe not having the music in your ears turned up too loud will heighten the awareness of fellow trail users.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

“Technical sections will challenge even seasoned bikers, while there are plenty of areas where less experienced riders can still enjoy a good ride.”
