This trail is so beautiful and quiet. If you never been on this trail before I suggest you get Alltrails app. If I didn't have that I know I would be still lost in those mountains 🤣. It is a little over 5 miles with over 6,000 feet elevation.
Nice long trail that gets you close to a desert canyon and som big rocks. Lots of sprouts you can take to explore. Washes and tumbleweeds galore. Great sunset hike if you can time it.
we went to this trailhead on a whim but wow the hike really delivered! would recommend we did a 5mi 500ft elevation gain trail that had large rock masses, beautiful clouds and mountains, and sprawling plains. nice variety of scenery and the trail was easy/well marked.
Beautiful area, especially the northern sections. Mild trails in general, but can be quite steep in places. Parking lot would be risky to get into and out of if you have low clearance - northern entrance to the lot is the best of the two.
