Confirmed from Nimham Mountain Multiple Use Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Easy and difficult trails for hiking (or trail running) through the woods, leading to a fire tower.

What runners say about Nimham Mountain Multiple Use Area

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (195 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 14 mentions

“A great view of the area with the fire tower, but beware of windy days as it can be pretty open to the elements.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 5 mentions

“With scenic trails, stunning views from the fire tower, and peaceful woodlands, it's a great place for outdoor enthusiasts.”

Great place to mountain bike with varying terrain and techy rock slabs. The tower side is like a mini bike park, fun with chunky rock gardens!

★★★★★ — Mtbzine , May 2025

Breathtaking views from the top of the fire tower with a variety of mountain biking trails for the intermediate to experienced rider. Trails are rocky and technical and vary from blues to double blacks. Takes about a 15-20 minute walk/bike up to the tower if you take the gravel road from the most elevated parking spot.

★★★★★ — D , Sep 2020

A great view of the area with the fire tower, but beware of windy days as it can be pretty open to the elements. Crowds can also be higher in the fire tower trail, overall the trail to it is easy to walk and is wide. The other hiking trails have significantly less people with a dense amount of marked trails to enjoy.

★★★★☆ — Trekker , Dec 2020

Great spot to hike to the fire tower! Uphill about 15-20 minutes on a stone road. NOTE: if going to tower-when you park dont go left, basically continue on the road you drove up on but walking past the gate.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
