Confirmed from North Oak Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Softball stadium on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University, with play equipment & a path.
What runners say about North Oak Park

“Would help if they had shade on the playground it gets very hot.”
“Large park in quiet, clean area.”
Great for a walk. Would help if they had shade on the playground it gets very hot. Still my preferred park so far. There is a water splash area but no hours listed.
Large park in quiet, clean area. Sports field and dedicated bathroom area. Kids loved location. Only down side; their is limited shade and seating in park area.
Well kept park, play area, mile track for walking or running, splash pad. Lots of people don't clean up after themselves, dogs must be on a leash.
Nice park. Good place to walk or take your children to the playground or splash park. I've always felt safe there.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
