Confirmed from Northampton & Bath Railroad Bike Path's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Northampton & Bath Railroad Bike Path

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (85 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

A good bike path/trail to enjoy. Part of the trail is paved; another stretch has gravel and, in places, can get a bit soft after precipitation has fallen. The trail passes by multiple parks along the way, and restrooms can be found at Bicentennial Park. People ride bikes, run, and walk along the trail.

Dont like how they put no trespassing signs in the forest as it ruins the scenery when jogging, but its a nice trail that nice and long

★★★★☆ — Sam , Dec 2019

Nice, mostly shaded trail. Decent length for an hour bike ride. Drawback is that you have to cross two busy roads. Mostly covered in gravel, good when it is wet, but dry, it is very dusty.

★★★★☆ — Pam , Jun 2022

Great bike and walking path in Northampton and Bath. Very, very clean and a great place to get out and get fresh air and enjoy nature!!!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

  • At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
