Confirmed from Saylor Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Family-friendly green space with playgrounds and trails for walking and biking.
What runners say about Saylor Park
“Great place to park with your small children before you try the well kept and pleasant Ironton Trail for walking or biking.”
“Beautiful space to walk along the Ironton Rail Trail or along the Lehigh River.”
Such a unique place to see and you can stop right here and check it out quickly. The trail runs right along here too if you have more time and want to walk/run or bike.
The birthplace of Portland Cement. Great place to park with your small children before you try the well kept and pleasant Ironton Trail for walking or biking. Public bathrooms are up the hill next to the town pool. Large playground on site. Lots of shade.
It’s a really awesome trail right here, there is a loop and a spur. If I remember correctly, the loop is 6 miles, and the spur is 4 miles I believe. We love that they transformed the old train tracks into such a great place to get some exercise! The track is nice and wide. The hills are not horrendous.
Nice park. You can park here to walk the rail trail. The kids playground is a but dated but my kids loved the variety. There is even a small sledding hill in the winter. Of course, the kilns are really neat as well.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
