Confirmed from Northern Boundary Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Family-friendly area with numerous trails for hiking, biking and strolling.
What runners say about Northern Boundary Trailhead
“Trees and Animals are being removed everywhere, hope Oak Ridge doesn’t do the same with this beautiful area.”
“So beautiful & peaceful, with the most insane turquoise waters😍 Our new favorite spot!”
“You can make this just an easy walk to the water or take a side trail and hike in the woods Several miles.”
This is an easy hike with lots of beautiful landmarks and easy access. I had no idea that Oak Ridge was so rich in natural areas that are clean and beautiful. The quarry was great to stumble upon with its Aquamarine colors and walk around trail. So many connecting trails too!!!
The photos are in sequence taken on the walk in. The route is on the gravel road, until the road takes a hard right turn. There a path veers straight ahead off the road, which after about 50 yards opens out to the east end of the quarry.
Great trails. Easy to miss or not even realize it exists, but anyone in the area looking for a place to walk, run, or bike, should seriously consider this place. Very large, lots of trails, with some very pretty (but small) bodies of water. Highly recommend exploring if you don't feel like going to the mountains.
Super easy short trail to the quarry. Several side trails that are mostly used by bikes. You can make this just an easy walk to the water or take a side trail and hike in the woods Several miles. Gets very busy! Dog friendly! Lots of bicyclists!
