Confirmed from Northwest Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Northwest Park
“Near my home and well kept and the trail around the park is great😁 walk my dog there all the time🐶”
“Needs a mow but that park is always nice for being quiet and not crowded.”
I can't believe I never knew about this awesome little park! If I designed a small park on a hill I'd make it just like this. It has a playground, a shelter, a basketball hoop, and a nice winding path. And right behind it are the Red rock trails where you can run or bike for hours if you like.
Clean. Well kept. Basketball half court. Really good use of space. Nice walk path with ample park seating. Football field. Parking lot. Porta potty on site.
Nice park, lots of trees and a small playground. It has volleyball, horseshoes, and a baseball court. The walking path is well maintained.
It's my favorite park in Gillette. Near my home and well kept and the trail around the park is great😁 walk my dog there all the time🐶

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
