What a gem! This is where I officially resumed my running after recovering from a nasty injury. A great scenic spot to finish a surprisingly light 5K run through Shem Creek/Mount Pleasant historic village. Lots of people running, walking, fishing, having fun and simply enjoying themselves.
One of the best places in Charleston to spend a sunny afternoon at! Breathtaking views and free parking! Could get a bit stinky in summer days but not as bad.lots of benches, and a grass strip parallel to the walk is maintained.
Our favorite place to go to catch the sunset (or sunrise!) or just to be near the water (without all the sand and fuss!). It’s so calm and tranquil here. Lots of history, stunning views, and a great place to relax and unwind.
Pros: Relaxing, peaceful, great scenery with benches, paved and boardwalk...view of Charleston skyline, Fort Sumter, and Bridge Cons: Very limited parallel parking on right hand side with some wash out, so more suitable for certain vehicles to use than others.
