Confirmed from Old Mill Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park, sporting trails to former brick mills from the 1800s, including an old one destroyed by fire.
What runners say about Old Mill Park
“Lock and damn to see the boats come in, waterfall, old mill, scenic along the river.”
I went to see the ruins. I was there on a rainy day and of course I had the wrong shoes on. I didn't do too much exploring but there are exploring options. So I will be back. the ruins are neat and a short walk from the parking lot. Sucks that they have graffiti all over.
Awesome little trail near Vermillion Falls. Heads into the ruins of an old mill that burned down in the late 1800s. Great for some nature and to see a bit of history.
The old mill ruins are pretty cool. There's a few paths for the more adventurous to go inside the ruins and even down below to the river valley. Watch your step!
Really a cool site of a historic river side mill. The ruins are amazing, well worth the short walk. Will go back. The only sad part is that something this historic has been tagged with graffiti.

“There's an old run down mill covered in spray paint, there is so much to climb on and see and there's trails that lead to the river.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
