Confirmed from Point Douglas Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Point Douglas Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (277 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Fishing, stunning views of the river and of course the fun sandy beach ⛱ and swimming inside the bouys (no lifeguard on-duty)”

Point Douglas Park is on the scenic St. Croix River where the view is magnificent. With a large parking and clean facilities.

★★★★★ — Rosy , Oct 2022

This place is always so nice to sit and people watch or see the boats come in and out. Fishing is more miss than hit. Lots of people fishing or just walking around. Parking is a pay lot unless you have an annual pass from Washington county.

★★★★☆ — Meng , Aug 2024

This place was beautiful, the beach was clean and lots of places to walk and fish. Highly recommend

★★★★★ — Taryn , May 2025

This is probably the best and biggest beach in Twin Cities area on the spectacular St Croix River right before Mississippi River swallows it under the lifting bridge. There’s a small, more private beach on the other side of the St Croix River. Clean water, unrealistic views, plenty of grills and tables, meter parking.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
