Confirmed from Paige Falls / Broadwater Hollow's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly creek and waterfall surrounded by trails, accessible via a rough dirt road.
What runners say about Paige Falls / Broadwater Hollow
“The rocks that are carved out by the water are very cool and the pool of water at the falls is very blue and beautiful.”
“Regardless, it's a fairly easy hike and always something new to look at.”
We only walked within the creek bed since it was dry but the trails looked nice. This is a beautiful area. The pool of paige falls is perfect for swimming, but do not attempt to jump in to the water from the falls. There is a large rock to the left of the pool that is good for jumping off of.
I hiked this on 1/29/25. Two mile drive down dirt road heading east from Compton. I have a Jeep Cherokee, but did not need to use 4 wheel drive. Road was dry, but if it is wet, then may be slippery to drive. Road not too rough, but I would not take a passenger car. Follow Google map directions to where to park.
It's only about a half mile round trip. An easy hike but not easy to find the trailhead. The trail starts where the water runs over the road. There's a red arrow on a tree to help indicate where to start. I was told you can swim in the Broadwater Hollow during the summer time and jump off of the falls.
Very beautiful place! Easy to find you drive down a dirt road about 1.5 miles and then you’ll see a pull off area. Park then walk down the road to the creek about 20 feet turn right. You can walk the trails or walk down the creek bed straight to the waterfall. Only about a 8th of a mile.
Trail conditions & character
“We used AllTrails but we actually walked the creek bed for the most part, only climbing up to the trail to get around the waterfalls.”
“Short walk from unmarked parking area but when you reach the creek, there is a sign that says “trail.”
“75 miles down, the trail turns up a narrow canyon, and there are places that are muddy, slippery, and require some scrambling.”
“The drive down to the falls was a dirt road, steep in quite a few places and quite rough (four wheel drive is recommended.”
“This is great little area that is easily accessible from the road via a volunteer trail - perfect for a short hike with kids.”
