Confirmed from Paloma Community Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“I've been to Paloma Park many times over the last few years and it's still as beautiful as it was the first time.”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“Great park with tons of amenities but definitely needs way more seating and shade, in pretty much all sections.”

They really take care of this park! Super nice! The playground needs an adult swim type situation cuz it looks super fun 😆 Kai loves walking the trail, hitting the dog park and making friends!

We discovered this great park... less than 20 minutes from where we live. It has something for everybody and is extremely well-kept. It looks quite new. Pickleball, walking trails, hiking trails, tennis courts, there's a water park splash area for kids, clean washrooms, lots of parking and a lake stocked with fish.

I've been to Paloma Park many times over the last few years and it's still as beautiful as it was the first time. Hands down the best park in Peoria in my opinion. Today I came strictly to walk the trail nearby. Weather was amazing this morning and so worth it. If you walk the entire loop it's about a mile.

The BEST place to watch the sunrise! Near Peoria/Glendale/Sun City. Great park with dirt walking path to small hill/mountain, paved walking path with distance markers, fishing pond, pickleball courts, cool sculpture, dog park, sports fields and more!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 17 mentions

“It has lots of stuff: sports complex, dog parks, great fields, a fishing pond, playground, bathrooms, armadas and probably other things I haven't discovered yet.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
