Confirmed from Panola Mountain State Park - Alexander Lake & Archery Range's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Beautiful trails through the woods and around the lake. You have access at either the park's parking lot or the lake's parking lot, and walk or ride you bike to the other destination.

We sure love this Park! It's easily accessible to our house and the trails are interesting and fun not to mention the beauty, especially now, in Spring! A nice fact...I'm a disabled veteran of the Liberation of Kuwait, and when i buy my annual pass they give me my military and senior citizen discount! Ahhhhhh!

★★★★★ — Linda , Jun 2024

A nice place to spend some time in nature. This is a place to go fishing, running, walking, biking, or have a small picnic. Parking is $5 unless you have the yearly state pass. The trail connects to the Panola and Arabia mountain trails. The Alexander Trail Loop is about 1.8 miles.

What can I add more? If you're looking for a hidden gym close to Metro area, it doesn't get any better than this. All kinds of things to do and see here. They have a full moon hike up the mountain and back down to a fire that's waiting for you with chocolate and such to make those graham cracker desserts.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
