Confirmed from Pecan Bottom Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Pecan Bottom Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (359 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

“There is a swing set with plenty of options for all, a few slides, climbing and jumping sections, and of course, clean restrooms.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“Beautiful place to walk along side the Medina river!”

🌳 shaded & cool 3 mentions

“There was shaded parking and the splash pad was still running even in October.”

Great for family to spend time together, my great grandson enjoyed the the little water parks with water spraying up and raining down. They just run around kind of like we did with the water sprinklers only on a bigger scale and there are many little kids that dart here and there laughing.

Pecan Bottom Park is one of our favorite parks in the Waco area. There are several other parks all throughout Cameron Park that we also enjoy, but this one is by far the favorite. It's typically not too difficult to find parking nearby, it's right next to the Riverwalk and the Cameron Park Zoo just across the street.

This is a great park with a lot of space to have the kiddos run about. The playground equipment is in good shape and offers plenty of options for them to enjoy. From monkey bars to climbing rock, our 2 girls spent a good hour making friends and having fun.

Not to bad of a park. Not much to the playground, splash pad is ok and the walk way down the river is nice. Just don't like people don't know how the teach their kids how to act. Throwing mud into my kids eyes when my kids weren't even playing with their kids. And they just sit there and watch them do it.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
