Confirmed from PG&E Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular hiking area featuring a steep trail that's good for those looking for a strenuous workout.
What runners say about PG&E Trailhead
“This is a beautiful trail in Cupertino.”
“The trail has a lot of shade and is a rolling elevation with ups and downs.”
Awesome hike. I live close so have been going there for decades! I usually do the Stephen Abbors trail (PGE) - it would be very hard hike for beginners, medium to hard folks who regularly hike.
We took this trail from the parking lot to the summit a couple of times. Twelve miles round trip and around 3,400 ft elevation gain. The last 2 miles were quite steep. Compared to Mt Diablo, Mt Umunhum, Mission Peak, etc, this is a great hike for steep elevation gain.
One of the most popular hiking places in Bay Area! This gem caters to hikers of all kinds - beginners to hard core! Four nice loops - approx 2.7 miles, 4.7 miles, 8.3 miles and 13 miles! Take your pick. Or just have a nice family time at Deer Hollow Farm.
