Confirmed from Stephen E. Abbors Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area featuring a challenging trail.

If you don't want to struggle with the crowds inside Rancho San Antonio, especially during the weekends, this is the place for you. You can either park near the model aircraft field or further down near the trail-head. I usually choose the moderately steep climb.
Great challenging trail. Make sure to fully hydrate, eat a balanced carb to protien meal and use restroom down by parking lot prior to hike. Bring water and a couple light snacks. Advanced trail, lot of incline. Without stopping it can take about 2 1/2 -3 hrs. depending on your skill level. Enjoy!
Trail conditions & character
“Some nice trails, easy up to gain some quick elevation with rewarding views.”
“If you are taking the way up it's quite steep and with limited shades so it can get tough.”
