Confirmed from Pilot Knob Trail Head's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly hiking area with a gazebo, waterfall, and views of Lake George.
What runners say about Pilot Knob Trail Head

“The trail path is clearly marked and has some smooth hiking areas some steep hiking area and plenty of rocky staircases!”
“Great day hike - uphill all the way through on the orange trail to gazebo but still beginner friendly and no snow on the trail this time of year despite last weekend’s snowfall.”
Went there with my senior dog. Hike was a little challenging because it’s rocky and all up to the mountain. If you expecting an easy brisk walk go elsewhere. When you get to the top, there is a gazebo and a nice place to rest.
Good trail for family and group hike as there’s a beautiful gazebo overlooking Lake George. Beginner group can rest there as the intermediate group can proceed to the small waterfalls 💧😅. Met the most inspiring woman 👩 from Connecticut on the way to the waterfall.
Very nice hike- steep going up. I would say is moderate- have to be in good cardiovascular health as there are many stairs.
