Confirmed from Prairie Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Prairie Park
“Well kept clean stayed a week staff was great”
“Scenic lake with long walking trail.”
Nice little park! Feels like you're out of town with ample space to roam about. A small pond is the star of the show here with a walking trail wrapping around it. A paved street-turned-walking-path only goes along one side of the pond, so prepare to walk the remaining bit on a mowed grass path.
Great little fishing pond and place to take a walk. There is another review listed that speaks to the fence being opened at one section and they did not want their dogs to run on the highway.
Kind of a hidden gem to Sioux City. This place is teeming with waterfowl in the spring during migration. An awesome variety of waterfowl will hang out here. Nice trail around the lake.
Down there to kill a little bit of time and walk around, it's a pretty nice place to go I don't like having carrying fishing equipment as far as I did but other than that it's peaceful

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
