Confirmed from Pronghorn Natural Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Easy, flat trail along a closed dirt road featuring deer, birds and pronghorn.
What runners say about Pronghorn Natural Area
“Just stopped to use rest stop but trail look well kept and clean.”
Beautiful place, saw lots of deer, pronghorn, birds, and rattlesnakes. Definitely don't stray off the trail and don't bring dogs or young children. Watch your step and listen for the snakes
Went to actually look for the entrance for the Titan 1 Missle silo. Didn't wanna stray from the path given all the snakes and brush. Plus... Its tress passing. But saw some cool Coyotes and a LOT of fire ants on the trail. Was a nice trail but for sure stay on the path like the other reviews say.
Beautiful, flat trail. A little muddy in places because of all the recent rain, but easy to maneuver. We saw a deer, lots of birds, some snakes, and skinks.
Little trail outside of town remind me of home (nebraska) I would recommend going at the end of the day there is no shade any where

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
