Confirmed from Red Hollow Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Beautiful well kept trail.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“A very nice trail just a few minutes from Cedar City with great views of the surrounding mountains and fairly flat with only one 5% grade.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“This moderately-easy trail is great if you want to go on an adventure that isn't too long or too strenuous.”

We hiked up to Thor’s Chair, which was a cool but somewhat difficult hike! In order to get up to it, you hike up to the big pile of rocks, follow the signs to Thor’s Lookout, and after that, the trail forks a few times but stay to the left. The chair is a pretty cool landmark!

Beautiful view on the top. It's a moderate climb. It will be safer if you are wearing a hiking shoe. You can choose to go to the other side or go back the same way. At the beginning of the trail there is a magic tree where you can leave your sneakers hanging there🥾🥾

Loved this hike! This moderately-easy trail is great if you want to go on an adventure that isn't too long or too strenuous. Be prepared to feel the burn when going up, but it's nice that going back is almost all downhill.

Beautiful place with an asphalt trail for bike riding, running etc. as well as benches to sit on and take in the gourgeous red rock view and the river coming down the canyon. Lots of hiking trails here and near by. One of my favorite places in Cedar City!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
