Confirmed from Riley Trails Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Family-friendly destination for hiking and biking, centered around a former landfill.
What runners say about Riley Trails Park
“The mountain bike loop isn't the most challenging, but it is a lot of fun, fast, and very beautiful.”
“My dog loves running around and sniffing all the trees like literally every one .”
I love walking Riley Trails Park in every season, although I seem to get lost every time I go! Trails are shared with mountain bikers. There are two parking entrances, one on Riley and another on 160th. The trails are dog friendly. Very peaceful.
This is a great Trail System for not just an Adult but also the entire Family. It is good for kids to learn not only how to navigate a trail system, but also gain confidence in their abilities. No matter your skill level it is a good trail, with lots to offer. Very flowy and easy to stay focused.
Great wooded area for hiking. You will feel like you are far away somewhere in a forest hiking and in reality you're in the neighborhood in someone's backyard. Huge area with plenty of shaded and sunny trails. Short and longer hikes available. Perfect place!
Lots of space - I never feel crowded when I go hiking here. I try to stay off the bike paths and give the bikes right of way, and this is easy to do. There are several trails and several miles to hike. Most of the paths are shaded by trees. Some dunes/sandy hiking is available as well. Dogs are allowed on leashes.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
