Confirmed from Albert C Keppel Forest Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Compact pine-filled park featuring trails for hiking and biking as well as picnic tables.
What runners say about Albert C Keppel Forest Preserve
“Small simple clean short and sweet.”
“Quiet and peaceful trails with benches”
Beautiful forrest with red pine. Not a long trail but a few circuits around and it is a good quality hiking experience.
Beautiful place to explore and relax. We had a family walk and decided to build this wood shelter just for fun and to compete with the ones around!!
Nice walking / biking trails through thick canopy of pine and other native trees. The surface is easy to walk on and we'll maintained. Good for kids and dogs. Did not see any poison ivy along the sides.
A great park to walk plus ride bikes. It's a small version of Riley Trails Park!

- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
