Confirmed from Rock Creek Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Rock Creek Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (299 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“Very well kept trail and well populated…in vision of residential and commercial properties, so relatively safe during business hours/daylight.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“We started at Orenco Woods Nature Park (which is beautiful in its own right) and walked all the way to Hwy 26 and back.”

It's a very serene trail . The walk paths are overstretched. It spreads across most adjoining roads in the Quatama area of Hillsboro. It has lakes, and you can do fishing without a license. You can play Frisbee, walk your dogs , and play grounds for kids and adults, lol.

This is a great trail for bikers and pedestrians. The trail goes for a long ways along the area, and there's still so much I haven't seen yet. Goes through many suburban parks, too.

Nice trail in town. It is located right by my company and I like taking walks during lunch. Some places with notices that trail maybe impassable due to high water. Looks like that sign is temporary for fall when it rains a lot Spotted variety of animals during hikes: rabbit, deer, coyote

We loved our walk on the Rock Creek Trail. We started at Orenco Woods Nature Park (which is beautiful in its own right) and walked all the way to Hwy 26 and back. Lots of company on the walk, including bicycles and frisbee golf players which got distracting at times.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
