Confirmed from Rocky Springs Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Other than that it is a fun place to go “creekin’” and to camp, with the old Rocky Springs town site nearby (easy hike).”

Rocky Springs is a rest area along the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi. The parkway is very smooth and it's a nice road with no commercial businesses. Rocky Springs rest area is nice to have. It is easy parking lot to pull off into. There is also a campground and some hiking trails.

Very peaceful. Lots of RVs but quiet hours enforced 10 to 6. Nice nature trail and old trace. But one big RV from Quebec had big pit fire that that smelled like toxic sewage burning. My wife and daughter were smoked out of bathroom by a lady smoking inside each time.

A wonderful place and hike, especially for scouts of all ages. There's a good walk down and back from the trail and camping nearby. The bathrooms are basically a hit or miss when it comes to cleanliness, so there's that. But there's a little waterfall and an Native American mound a mile up ahead.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
