Confirmed from Vicksburg National Military Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park marking the Civil War's Vicksburg Campaign includes sites, exhibits & the U.S.S. Cairo museum.
What runners say about Vicksburg National Military Park
“The monuments throughout the park are beautiful and powerful, and each stop helped bring the story of the siege to life.”
This park is awesome and very educational. It covers several miles, the reason for it being drive through. Easy to follow roads. Welcomes tours. You can get a one time pass or yearly pass and it is good at all National Parks.
I absolutely recommend the visit here to anyone. The battlefield has some markers scattered through the battlefield, like many others I have visited. It is so different here from many other battlefields, because of the terrain. Many are flatter, but this battlefield is very hilly from the trenches.
Looking for a trail in All Trails and didn’t realize this was in a National Park. We got to renew our yearly NPS membership and had a great 3.5 mile loop. Lots of historical markers of the battles fought so many years ago with the markers clearly showing the location of the Union and Confederate armies.
Lots of info in this park. The national Park service had an audio tour and it was great. The USS Cairo was a fantastic visit too! For us, the weather was perfect. Overcast and 75. But I bet it gets steamy and warm fairly quickly.

- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
