Confirmed from Roswell Riverwalk Boardwalk's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Roswell Riverwalk Boardwalk

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (404 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Thoroughly enjoyed walking this trail, beautiful scenery, groundskeepers were diligent in keeping the environment clean, met friendly people and had great time of birdwatching.”

🏃 great for running 2 mentions

“Pretty walkway along the river great for a run or bike ride.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Peaceful trails with great views and you'd be seeing all kinds of wildlife - birds, fish, deer and if you get lucky, others too.”

This is a great place to walk and see nature. I have been going here since it was completed and still find some amazing things to see. If you are a photographer like me, you will find plenty of opportunities to take pictures of all kinds of birds. There are also a few that you only see when they migrate.

One of my favorite spots to go for outdoor exercise and a chance to be around nature. From Riverside Underpass to Willeo Park, this trail goes past boat docks for fishing and water sports, pavilions for picnics, playgrounds for children, St.

★★★★★ — Seth , Jul 2022

Absolutely gorgeous park with miles of wide, fairly accessible trails and sidewalks. The boardwalk portion is accessible by parking on the shoulder nearby (make sure to keep all wheels off the road to prevent ticketing), or by parking at the trailhead (limited spots available).

★★★★★ — Katelin , Sep 2023

Lovely boardwalk, ideal for morning and evening walks, jogs. The place is so calm and peaceful. Entry is completely free. Only concern is with respect to parking. No alloted parking area here.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🪵 Boardwalk 15 mentions

“There is probably a mile of boardwalk that then connects to a paved trail that runs like sidewalk alongside the road (it's removed from the road, so safe for kids).”

Plan your run at Roswell Riverwalk Boardwalk

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
