Confirmed from Rotary Bark Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Rotary Bark Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (173 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“Very well maintained and there is a water spigot available near the parking lot.”

🐕 dog-walking favorite 4 mentions

“My dogs love it here, so much freedom, trails & wildlife to chase.”

I take my dog here everyday. Best dog park I have ever been to! The outer loop is just under a mile long and there is a clearing for dogs to gather as well. Very well maintained and there is a water spigot available near the parking lot. All owners and dogs are very friendly.

We took our golden doodle here on a Sunday around 2 p.m. The park was very busy, probably because the weather was so nice. Sixty-one degrees and sunny! Once you enter the gated area of the dog park, there is a wooded loop trail (with short interconnecting trails) you can walk with your dog off leash.

Wonderful! On leash or off. Water at stations and a beautiful place to walk. Met some lovely people and pooches!

★★★★★ — Holly , May 2024

Truly a fine place to take your dog to run free and play and meet other dogs and their people, all of whom are very kind. Safe parking and access at the Gig Harbor Fire Department HQ. Walk in a ways on leash to access a properly fenced, off-leash play area. Fresh water is usually available in jugs.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
