Confirmed from Route 66 State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Route 66 State Park
“Walking, biking, riding paths are well maintained, foliage and fauna plentiful, and if you don't get enough exercise, you only have yourself to blame!”
“(The beautiful mustang photo'd was his 1967 Ford Mustang, although he said he wished it was a '66) Loved this place and got some nice souvenirs.”
“This park is peaceful and a good concrete road to do whatever you like to do walk, bike,or skate.”
The former Times Beach, MO that was decimated by dioxin poisoning and cleaned up by the government in the 90’s. Nice, peaceful walks through the land, going to and along the Meramec River and back.
This was our final stop along Route 66 as we headed across country. We went into this Visitor's Center blind as to what it signified. The staff (Jan) was extremely knowledgeable and discussed the history of Times Beach, its unfortunate demise, and the future of the Route 66 bridge.
Beautiful park. It winds around to different recreation areas that include several private pavilions with clean restrooms and a large parking area for gatherings. We saw several people riding bikes, jogging and walking the trail and road throughout the park.
We were looking for a restroom while on our trip. I decided we'd stop by here instead of thr run-of-the-mill gas station. I was very glad we did because this is a hidden gem. The gentleman working was very pleasant, and so knowledgeable on the area.
