Confirmed from Flint Quarry Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Flint Quarry Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (70 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Beautiful blazing yellow fall colors in a huge grove of maple trees toward the south end of the trail if you hike in October.”

Fascinating history & beautiful rocks along the trail. Wear sturdy shoes!

★★★★☆ — Brie , Oct 2021

I enjoyed the Flint Quarry Trail. It is close enough to the city to be able to go for a few hours. This 3-mile trail is considered a moderate trail because of exposed rocks, incline, and multi use aspects of the trail. During the week, the trail (in the winter) was not populated at all.

★★★★★ — Adie , Feb 2023

7/31/23. Trail is in fairly good shape. A little too much loose gravel in some downhill stretches makes hiking tricky but gravel was needed due to ruts and erosion. Plenty of trees make the trail shady almost everywhere.

★★★★★ — Ray , Aug 2023

Moderately difficult with lots of trail options. One of my favorite hikes in the area but is lacking a view of any kind

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
