Confirmed from Russell A Freeman Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

So happy to have found this park! It is expansive and has a walking, biking trail all around the perimeter. It borders the river so you can connect with the Riverwalk and go for miles if you like. There's a playground and several benches for sitting. It has at least one bathroom that was clean and well stocked.

This is a pretty good sized park. There is a playground area that is good for both older and younger kids. It has a large climbing web for the older kids, and easy to climb options and slides for younger kids. There are also swings.

While we love the playground and walking paths at Freeman Park, the pavilion by the playground was covered in graffiti with inappropriate language this visit. I hope that’ll be resolved soon as this is one of our favorite parks.

★★★★☆ — Gigi , Apr 2022

Part of that string of green spaces lining the Snake River, the beautiful Freeman Park is on the east bank, just south of the Idaho State University Campus. On the river walk you can take a little detour or find a spot in this ample green space for a picnic.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
