Confirmed from Russell Park Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Russell Park Trailhead
“Well traveled beautiful trail!”
“The first part is easy walking through a wooded area.”
It's about a 1.5 mile hike to the primitive campground which is in my opinion the best of those around Lake Georgetown.
Plenty of parking today. Nice, easy trail. Dry and a bit rocky in spots. Hiked 3 miles out and back. Saw several people on the trail but not crowded at all.
Fantastic way to start a day spent enjoying the trails. Easy access and plenty of parking.
This is a nice, well marked trail. The first part is easy walking through a wooded area. Later, the trail becomes rocky. There is some elevation change, but not much. We passed a picnic area with a couple of tables and had some nice views of the lake.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
