Confirmed from Ruth Reynolds Glunt Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic nature preserve encompassing 2 bridge-connected islands, 1 with a lighthouse.
What runners say about Ruth Reynolds Glunt Nature Preserve
“Spectacular, you leave your car in the parking lot and you only have to walk for about 10 minutes or so through the path, this place has a beautiful view and feels very peaceful.”
“It's an easy hike but certain areas has the black spikes so I was carrying my little fur baby.”
Cool place to check out when visiting Catskill. It's an easy hike but certain areas has the black spikes so I was carrying my little fur baby. Very nice scenery so be there before sunset so you have enough light to go back bc there's no electric lamps on the path.
I highly recommend taking this walk to the Saugerties Lighthouse. Bring lunch and enjoy the beautiful picnic area. We even spotted a seal! We took a chance and had our son in his stroller - We were successful, but it was admittedly a little challenging. We managed to get through a muddy spot and a few other obstacles.
What a great little hiking spot! Really cool walk to the lighthouse, with amazing views like you're standing in the middle of the river! Dog and kid friendly I had a great time with my family. Took about an hour round trip! Beware of high tide, the trail might be underwater so be prepared.
Awesome preserve that leads to a lighthouse at the end. Great views. Lots of pretty scenery. Well-kept trail, but it can be wet and soggy at times. Parking area is a little hidden, just past where the Coast Guard station is.
