Confirmed from Tivoli Bays' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Tivoli Bays

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (147 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 11 mentions

“The tidal "maze" or whatever it's called is breathtakingly beautiful and you can wander around for hours before going onto the Hudson proper if you want.”

🪧 well-marked 3 mentions

“Some places trail not well marked but overall great hike.”

👟 good for all levels 2 mentions

“Easy trail access to the river - there is also a small waterfall with a swimming hole at the bottom to cool off in the summer.”

We took the upper trail by mistake, and it was very nice. A nice easyeander along the wetlands, with some spectacular views of the catskills.

Good signage from the road. I parked in the small 9G lot, and there was only one other car there on a sunny cool October Sunday. However, there had been heavy rains the night before. As I started on the blue overlook trail, some other hikers said the path was impassable near the end due to the rains.

This is a great venue with views of the Catskills directly over the Hudson River. One of my favorite spots to watch the sunset. There is also a kayak launch to explore the bays or the river. There are lots of trails to explore as well.

Beautiful place for hiking with views in the forest, overlooking the marsh and mountains in the horizon

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
