Confirmed from Ryder Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Green place with playgrounds for kids, a pavilion and a 9/11 tribute site.
What runners say about Ryder Park
“Clean and perfect for our two kiddos ages 4 and 8.”
“Beautiful 9/11 tribute site.”
“Nice clean family-friendly Park and pavilion”
It's a wonderful park and playground. There are trails that run around a pond and lead to the Erie canal trail. The play ground is suitable for all ages. There are plenty of climbing and slides also swings for all sizes. I've noticed bbq equipment there as well as a pavilion.
Nice little park my first time visiting, have a picnic area and some trails it looks like, quiet not busy relaxing little park , not in the shade the baby swing are though
Nice starting off for a good walk or bike ride. There are calisthenics activities along the path for working out. The pond is filled with pan fish and the 911 memorial is done well. My little nephew seem to enjoy out visit here. The bathrooms are accessible to the someone on wheels.
Canal Days was a small, but nice, festival. Birds of prey and firetrucks to look at. Music. Bathrooms at Town Hall. Pavillion. Ponds with waterfowl. Places to walk.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
