Confirmed from Sabal Point Sanctuary's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Shaded, 1.5-mi. hiking trail with benches, ponds, and wildlife sightings.
What runners say about Sabal Point Sanctuary
“This trail was gorgeous today, but about 15min in, a bear was literally on the trail in front of me.”
“😆 Solid shaded hike though plenty of wildlife in area Deer, Black Bears, Gators, Owls and more possible sightings.”
“Very peaceful and a quiet place in the "city".”
I was skeptical on the drive in because the trailhead is on the backside of a neighborhood.....didn't last long. Beautiful, mostly shaded hike to the wekiva river. Saw a small black bear and some nice deer. Plentiful Wildlife.
Amazing trail as far as the amount of wildlife you see, however the bugs are unbearable during the summer, and I’ve also been bit by a water moccasin and a pygmy rattlesnake on the trail so I wouldn’t recommend taking young children unless you will actually be carrying them.
Quiet short trail. It can get muddy when it rains but overall enjoyable. Highly recommend.
It needs to be cold before hiking this spot due to the number of mosquitos. At 45 degrees, it was a wonderful hike.
