Confirmed from Sacajawea Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Sacajawea Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (327 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Connected to a Middle School - great turf lighted field but it is often reserved for FW Soccer Club. There are some paved trails and a 'hidden' playground.

★★★★★ — Latosha , Apr 2017

I used to jog 1.5 from my home to here with 3 small children on bicycles. There was a cinder track and a playground on the hill. Perfect for me getting a hard workout. I did memory lane and traced the route from the home, then ran a mile on a modern track.

★★★★★ — Larry , Sep 2022

A nice park. It has a lot of space for walks, baseball fields, soccer/football fields, a running track, and big tennis field. You can also play with a frisbee on one of the grass fields. There is a clean playground area for kids too. The parking is good, I personally have not had any trouble with it.

★★★★★ — Wen , Sep 2019

The park is up behind the baseball diamonds but since that puts it in the trees I think that makes it better. This was a good place for the kids to run around and use some energy on the play set.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Sacajawea Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • Loop distance9 mi back to where you parked. Long enough for a real long run.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
